Report: Vikings beef up defensive line with former first-round pick Jerry Tillery……

The Vikings continue to revamp their defensive line.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported Thursday the Vikings have reached an agreement with former Raiders defensive tackle Jerry Tillery on a one-year, $3.75 million deal.

Tillery, 27, spent the 2023 season with the Raiders and registered 31 combined tackles and two sacks in 17 games, along with 29 total pressures, according to PFF. He split snaps between the interior and outside defensive line in Las Vegas’ 3-4 defense, taking 213 snaps in the B gap (between guard and tackle), 211 snaps lined up over the tackle and 79 outside the tackle.

The 6-foot-6, 295-pounder was a first-round pick by the Chargers in the 2019 draft. Tillery was waived midway through the 2022 season, eventually being picked up by the Raiders. He has 12.5 career sacks in five seasons.

Tillery is the latest defensive player signed by the Vikings, joining pass rushers Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel, as well as linebacker Blake Cashman.
