Done Deal: The Saints and Dallas have agreed to a contract worth $62.7 million.

When free agency starts on Wednesday, March 13, the New Orleans Saints will lose one of their longest-tenured players. Wide receiver Michael Thomas, who has been with the Saints since 2016, is set to be a free agent and it’s become increasingly clear that he isn’t returning to New Orleans.

His time will end after eight seasons with the franchise, and while the ending may have been sour due to injuries and disagreements, fans should ultimately be thankful for Thomas’ dominant stretch with the team. It was a stretch in his first four seasons that saw Thomas start his career with four straight 1,000-yard seasons, three Pro Bowls and two All-Pro selections, two seasons when he led the league in receptions, and one year when he led the league in receiving yards. That’s certainly something to be celebrated.

One person that is celebrating it is Thomas’ teammate Cam Jordan. While Thomas was on social media discussing some of the special things he did in a Saints uniform, Jordan was right there on social media hyping him up. This led to a fan asking Jordan how he feels about Thomas’ departure.

Jordan explained that it’s sucks every offseason seeing his teammates move on, but all he can do is wish them the best.
