Leeds United strike deal for Leicester City midfielder…

Leeds United are said to be looking at trimming the squad cost this summer, which could result in the sale of either Patrick Bamford or Joel Piroe.

The Whites are readying their preparations for the start of the Championship campaign under Daniel Farke, but changes are afoot in the squad.

Archie Gray is the first major outgoing to be confirmed imminently, while others could be on their way out as the 49ers trim the squad and overheads.

A report from the Daily Mail shares that, amid Gray’s soon-to-be-announced £40million Tottenham transfer, others could be sold by the club soon too.

PSR issues are believed to be largely resolved through the teenager’s exit from Elland Road, as they write:

However, they share that two strikers are in view by the 49ers for a possible sale: Patrick Bamford and Joel Piroe, who both have interest from abroad, it is claimed.

Bamford signed for Leeds back in 2018 from Middlesbrough on a £7million deal, and is currently contracted until 2026.

Piroe was Leeds’ marquee summer signing after relegation, joining from Swansea City in a deal that could be worth as much as £16million with add-ons, contracted until the summer of 2027.
