We wasn’t expecting this: Jacksonville Jaguars key prolific star reveal reasons for his departure……

Mac Jones was supposed to be the man who would carry the New England Patriots into its new era of football after Tom Brady decided to move to Tampa. After a successful career in Alabama, expectations were high when he was drafted 15th overall in the 2021 Draft. However, the experiment didn’t pan out as expected as Mac Jones was eventually sent to the Jacksonville Jaguars to serve as the backup to Trevor Lawrence.

While he readily accepts his reduced role with his new team, the 25-year-old looks back to his Patriots career and gives his honest thoughts on what transpired during his time there.

During his introductory press conference with the Jaguars, Mac Jones was asked about his time in New England and his opinion on what happened during his time with the team.

“I have all the respect in the world for those guys up there,” Jones said Thursday. “They’re my first team, drafted me in the first round. Can’t thank them enough. We kind of just decided the mutual parting of ways was the best decision for both of us … and I think it’s a great decision.”

Jones added that he’s confident he can turn things around for himself with the Jags after what he went through with the Pats.

“A lot of great learning experiences,” the QB continued. “Learned from a great head coach, obviously, one of the greatest of all time, and fortunate to work with some great coaches and learned a lot, played a lot of games, started a lot of games, and obviously things went the way they did and my goal was to kind of get the train back on the tracks. So, I think I can do that here.”
