Done deal; Steelers rule out several players for Week 4 vs. Colts, including RB Jaylen Warren

The Pittsburgh Steelers are traveling to Indianapolis this weekend for a showdown with the Indianapolis Colts — hopefully improving to a 4-0 record, as long as they can overcome several key injuries that have plagued them in recent weeks. The Colts are dealing with plenty of injuries themselves, ruling out defensive starters CB Kenny Moore II (hip) and DE Kwity Paye (quad), while starting RT Braden Smith (knee) and C Ryan Kelly (neck) could also miss.

Steelers RB Jaylen Warren (hamstring) to miss multiple weeks; Week 1 status TBD

With the final practice of the week in the books, here’s a full breakdown of Steelers’ final injury designations, as well as their participation report for their final practice ahead of Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Steelers injury designations for Week 4

Questionable: QB Russell Wilson (calf)

Doubtful: LG Isaac Seumalo (pectoral)

Out: RB Jaylen Warren (knee), LB Alex Highsmith (groin), TE MyCole Pruitt (knee)

The team issued their final injury report on Friday, listing RB Jaylen Warren (knee), LB Alex Highsmith (groin) and TE MyCole Pruitt (knee) all out for Week 4. Expect Najee Harris to maintain his workhorse role with a decent dose of Cordarrelle Patterson mixed into the run game for good measure. Meanwhile, in place of Highsmith, Nick Herbig is in line for his first career start.

There was one pleasant surprise on the Steelers’ final injury report on Friday, as starting LG Isaac Seumalo was listed as doubtful (rather than having been ruled out). He’s been ruled out early in each of the three games to start the season after suffering a pectoral injury late in August. The projected timeline was around a month for his return, Steelers RB room likely to be down a man against the Colts following latest injury reportso based on that and his return does appear closer, even if it doesn’t happen in Week 4.

Rookie OG Mason McCormick made his NFL debut last week, rotating snaps with second-year OL Spencer Anderson at left guard in place of Seumalo. He played fairly well in that debut, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he got the start here in Week 4. McCormick didn’t allow a single pressure on his 13 pass-blocking opportunities per PFF.
